PDP suspends Governor Wamakko of Sokoto State

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has suspended Governor Aliyu Wamakko from the party, citing serial disobedience to party orders and contempt for authorities of the PDP.

 

The suspension of the governor was effected by the National Working Committee, NWC at its 338th meeting yesterday, a statement issued by the  National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh stated.

Wamakko is the second governor to be suspended in two weeks by the ruling party following penultimate Monday’s suspension of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of RiversState. Wamakko is a strong ally of Governor Amaechi and had recently been touted as Amaechi’s political soul.

PDP sources said, yesterday, that Wamakko had serially flouted party orders and instructions and had continuously flouted invitations issued by the NWC the latest being an invitation to attend yesterday’s meeting.

However, sources disclosed yesterday that Governor Wamakko travelled out of the country on Tuesday, a day before the NWC meeting. A PDP source, however, pooh-poohed that excuse saying that the governor travelled out of the country after he got the invitation from the NWC. “We have evidence of the receipt of the summons so, who does he think he is deceiving?”

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris rushed to hospital after 'attempted suicide'

Paris Jackson was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Wednesday amid reports of an attempted suicide.

Her mother Debbie Rowe is understood to have confirmed the reports to Entertainment Tonight and said the 15-year-old is currently at a Los Angeles hospital. 

A lawyer for Katherine Jackson, Paris’ grandmother, also appeared to confirm the suicide bid.
'She's suffered with the loss of her father,' the lawyer told the New York Daily News. 'But we don't know what she was exposed to that precipitated this.'

Paris, the daughter of the late Michael Jackson, was taken from her Calabasas family home on a stretcher at around 2am and conveyed to a nearby hospital, according to TMZ.

The website said the caller reported a possible overdose - although another source said the teenager had cut herself multiple times on one of her wrists.

The incident unfolded just hours after the teenager posted a series of alarming messages on Twitter.

Around midnight she recited the sorrowful  Beatles’ song Yesterday to her million plus followers, writing: 'Yesterday, all my troubles seem so far away, now it looks as though they’re here to stay.’

An hour previously, she posted: 'I wonder why tears are salty.'

The 911 call came in at 1.27am local time, according to TMZ and the website reports Paris is now 'doing ok'.

Paris’s mother Debbie told Entertainment Tonight how her daughter is going through a difficult time at present and 'has a lot going on'.

The teen was listed as a potential witness in a massive lawsuit currently being brought by the Jackson family against AEG – the concert promoters behind her late father Michael’s doomed tour This Is It.

The well connected Tim has worked with the likes of Giggs, (Nathaniel Thompson) who won the BET Awards for Best UK Rapper in 2009 and Nigerian born Tinie Tempah who was the only rapper that performed at the 2012 London Olympics.

Our high dependable family source told this magazine that, in what looked like a planned script, Tim got invited to the Ibrus` Apapa residence sometime last year in one of his journeys to Nigeria for a get-together and the rest has been history since then, the next thing was that, the duo of Alula and Tim fell head over heel in love, going to places together including clubs and they were conspicuously seen during Alula`s birthday celebration at Liquid Lounge on Victoria Island, Lagos, Encomium Black & White Ball and so on where her father who didn’t know anything posed with Tim in a photograph.

Alula, we were told kept bombarding Tim`s blackberry phone with different nude pictures until Clea who was Alula`s Friend in school got wind of it when she saw Alula`s several nude pictures in her fiancé`s phone. We learnt that Clea fainted on the spot, with the phone in her hands when she saw it. And when she was revived, she immediately cancelled their wedding plans, which was why she was in Nigeria in the first place, and jetted back to the UK, leaving a devastated Tim.

The unsuspecting British girl got practically broken down emotionally that she had to call-off the wedding plan, shocking enough was that, Clea saw different text messages and voice mails of their love affair, heart breaking nude pictures and the monies Alula had demanded from her man. In one of the messages, Alula was said to have asked Tim for N500, 000 to rescue her from being expelled from school but no one knows if she got that before bubble finally burst recently.

Alula`s parents, Sammy Okposo and Gloria Ibru we gathered are fully aware and are making sure they stop the relationship even though it`s almost too late. Sammy, the source told us scolded Alula at a function that he almost slapped her, we don’t know if it was in connection with the shameful affair.

In our facts finding mission, we put a call through to Alula to ask her about the request for over half a million naira from Tim, and if really she truly squandered her tuition fee on booze at the clubs back in her boarding school at Reddington in the UK, to hear her side of the story, and to our amazement, she flippantly told this reporter, “yes o! I spent all my school money at the club, with my brothers, we were just flexing and honestly, I did not know how it got finished, I was just having fun! But wait o, who told you? Tim never gave me that money I asked from him, if he did, then why am I still in Nigeria? I was expelled from school because I couldn’t raise the money on time, which is 2.5 million naira. Is he saying he gave me? Is he crazy? Does he know who my parents are?”   

When she was asked about Clea, and if she’s aware that the pictures she sent to Tim had shattered their wedding plans, she laughed out sarcastically, and said, “Look the only Clea I know, is Clea Blackwood, and she was my junior, back in school and I have no idea what pictures you are talking about! 

Why would I send nude pictures of me to someone who is married, or engaged, or whatever? And by the way this Tim, you are talking, about, I don’t know him! The person I know, that came to our house is called Bode, who says he runs pattern music or so, and yes we had something, I just loved his accent, the way he talks to me at night and all that, but then my parents said they didn’t want me to have anything to do with him, and I stopped seeing him! I even deleted him off my BB contacts. Look I know you are just making up these stories, because I didn’t send any pictures to anybody. So you can do what you like, I don’t care. When we called Mr. Tim Idowu Jnr, to react to the story, after several messages he refused to reply, all we could hear on the other end of the phone, was a thick British accent raining swear words on us and Alula! Man Kills His Sugar Mummy In Lagos

 

Victor was alleged to have killed his Sugar Mummy, Ms Bianca, during a hot argument inside her apartment in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, over "money related" fight.

Elder brother of Ms Bianca, Emeka Okoye, told Crime Alert that in a desperate move to cover his act, the suspect, Victor, went away with her phones, laptop, documents and disconnected every link between him and Bianca on the social media, facebook.
Narrating the circumstances that surrounded the death of their sister Emeka Okoye said, “that fateful night on the 10th of May, 2013, our sister, a mother of two from Ogidi, Anambra state, returned to her apartment in the company of Victor, a male friend whom she had been seeing for some time before the incident. Both of them went into the deceased bedroom.

"Before she slept off that night, the deceased teenage daughter identified as Onyinye said she heard noise and exchange of threats between her mother and Victor but did not enter the bedroom, as she thought it was some private matter that would be resolved amicably, after which she slept off. Their neighbours also reported that they heard Bianca’s shouts at night but did not enter her apartment as they equally did not envisage it would lead to her death.

“It was in the morning of the next day 11th of May, 2013, that one of the neighbours asked the deceased children after their mother, to which the children said she was still asleep. The fact of Bianca’s death however dawned on them, when her children were begging their neighbours for money to enable them eat."

"Their neighbour’s suspicion was compounded when the children further told them that they were begging for money because their mother had been sleeping since morning. This prompted them to go over to the deceased apartment, and opened her door, only to see Bianca lying on the bed, stone dead.

"The neighbours said they tried contacting us but apart from her children living with her, they did not know any of us. However, one of them identified as Philiper saved the day because she has the GSM number of one of Bianca’s friends identified as Chioma. She contacted her and she in turn was asked to contact any of us to come and carry her body. 

 

"That was how we were able to know what happened and when we came, we discovered that her killer was on the run.”

Speaking with Crime Alert, Chioma, late Bianca's friend, said she could not believe what she heard, because it sounded like a rude joke. This made her to place a call across to the suspect, Victor, as she has his phone number.

 

According to Chioma, immediately the suspect picked her call, he hurriedly asked her if any of her friends had called her. She reportedly asked him why he was asking such question and he said it had to do with the deceased, Bianca, whom he had problems with. In shock, Chioma shouted, “so it is true you have killed Bianca, you will pay for it”, and immediately, Victor switched off his phone.

Crime Alert learnt that the case was reported at Elemero police station, and policemen came from the station and took the remains of the deceased away. Autopsy carried out on Bianca’s remains revealed that she died as a result of strangulation.

The family of the deceased told the Police that a few days after the incident, the deceased documents were seen littered on a street in Enugu, Enugu State, and they don't know how the documents got there.

 

The late Bianca Ndidi Okoye was married, but separated from her husband, and was having an affair with Victor, until the time she was killed.

Bollywood actress Jiah Khan found dead

Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, who was found dead at her home in the Indian city of Mumbai, killed herself, a police post-mortem has found.

Her mother found Khan's body hanging in her apartment, police told the BBC.
Police say no suicide note has been found and they are seeking information from her neighbours.

The actress, 25, made her debut in 2007 with Amitabh Bachchan in Nishabd, based on the novel Lolita. She also acted with Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar.

"Nafisa Khan, who is known as Jiah Khan, was found hanging by her mother at around 22:45 India time [17:15GMT] ) at her residence on the first floor of Sagar Sangeet [apartment]," deputy commissioner of police Chhering Dorje said. 

Born Nafisa Khan in New York, the actress grew up in London before moving to Mumbai for a career in Bollywood.

She acted in Nishabd, starring Bachchan, and the psychological thriller, Ghajini, which had Aamir Khan in the lead role. 

Her last film role was in the 2010 comedy Housefull, in which she played a supporting role.

Amosu created a design which takes its inspiration from the Superman style signature and hand crafted it from 18ct solid white gold weighing approximately 48gsm of solid gold centred by a single flawless deep cut white diamond weighing 19cts.

The fashion guru said that he never thought it was possible to love the one-year-old Siamese as much as he does.

In an interview Lagerfeld also reignited his feud with Adele by calling her ‘a little roundish’ - and said she had him to thank for losing weight.

German-born Lagerfeld’s love for his cat, called Choupette, which translates as Herbie, is the stuff of legend in fashion industry circles.

He showers her with attention and pays for two personal maids to provide 24-hour care for her at his Paris mansion.

 

She has her own pillow and dines with Lagerfeld at the table twice a day on her own specially prepared meals.

Choupette even has her own iPad and when Lagerfeld is not there, the maids write down everything she does in little books so he can catch up on it later.
Her trusty tablet computer must come in handy when Choupette wants to check her Twitter feed - @Choupettesdiary has 27,442 followers.

SAD - Babcock student loses 8 family members in car accident on their way to her graduation

 

Margaret Okwuikpo a graduating student of Babcock University lost eight members of her family in a horrific auto accident on Friday May 31st in Port Harcourt. 

Margaret's father, grandmother, sisters, brothers and a cousin were on their way to her graduation ceremony, which was to take place on Sunday June 2nd, when the commercial bus they were traveling in crashed.

Margaret's mum, brother-in-law and two other people survived the accident and are being treated in the hospital.

VIDEO - Nigerian women lead in skin bleaching – WHO

 

The World Health Organisation, WHO, has said 77 percent of women in Nigeria use skin-lightening products, the world’s highest percentage. The figure compares with 59 percent in Togo, and 27 percent in Senegal.

The WHO report said the reasons for this are varied but most people said they use skin-lighteners because they want “white skin”.

WHO also said skin bleaching comes with hazardous health consequences. The dangers associated with the use of toxic compounds for skin bleaching include, blood cancers such as leukemia and cancers of the liver and kidneys, as well as severe skin conditions. It said hardcore bleachers use illegal ointments containing toxins like mercury, a metal that blocks production of melanin, which gives the skin its colour, but can also be toxic.

The report said in many parts of Africa, lighter-skinned women are considered more beautiful and believed to be more successful and likely to find marriage. It also said it is not only women who are obsessed with bleaching their skins. Some men too are involved in the practice.

WHO investigation said lightening creams are not effectively regulated in Nigeria where even roadside vendors sell tubes and plastic bags of powders and ointments from cardboard boxes stacked along sidewalks in market districts. Many of the tubes are unlabelled as to their actual ingredients.

Qatar based Al Jazeera also reported that business is booming for shops selling skin-lightening products. A trader said, “About 90 percent of my clients come asking for skin whitening products,” adding “I sell it to them and give advice on what product is best for them and how to use them.”

Raising his arm into a Usain Bolt pose, Michael Adebolajo kisses a copy of the Koran with his eyes closed.

The terror suspect went through this routine as he appeared in court yesterday accused of murdering Drummer Lee Rigby.
Stooping in the dock with a large bandage on his left arm, the 28-year-old demanded to be called ‘Abu Hamza’.

Clutching a copy of the Koran in his right hand, Adebolajo repeatedly interrupted the hearing.At one point he said: ‘I’m only a man. I would like to alleviate the pain if I may.’ Then suddenly he held his hands aloft and closed his eyes before kissing the Koran.
Throughout the 12-minute hearing Adebolajo blew kisses towards a relative in the public gallery, understood to be his younger brother Jeremiah.

Wearing a white T-shirt and trousers, he remained seated when deputy chief magistrate Emma Arbuthnott entered Westminster Magistrates Court in London for the hearing.

When he was told to stand by the court clerk, he asked: ‘May I ask why?’ The defendant was then told it was a customary part of the court process, to which he replied: ‘Then I will sit’.
Addressing Adebolajo, the court clerk said: ‘I understand that you wish to be known as Mujahid Abu Hamza.’

 

The defendant replied: ‘That is correct.’ He was then referred to as ‘Mr Abu Hamza’ throughout the remainder of the hearing.
Adebolajo is accused of killing Drummer Rigby, 25, just yards from Woolwich army barracks in broad daylight on May 22.

Drummer Rigby, who leaves behind a two year-old son called Jack and a fiancée, died from multiple stab wounds and had to be identified by his dental records.
Adebolajo, from Romford, Essex, was shot by police and spent just over a week being treated for his injuries under armed guard in hospital.
The defendant is also charged with attempting to murder two police officers, known as E38 and D49.

He faces a fourth charge of possessing a 9.4mm revolver with intent to cause persons to believe that unlawful violence would be used against him.

 

 

Shouting from the dock in a slightly slurred voice, Adebolajo said: ‘May I respond please? I’m not sure I’ve heard those specific charges put to me like that before.’

 

The magistrate told him it  was normal procedure for suspects to have the charges read out  to them.
To which Adebolajo replied: ‘I’ve got an idea, somewhere along the line a jobs-worth came up with a very foolish rule that a criminal, or so-called criminals, in the dock may not respond. For what reason?’ 

Mrs Arbuthnott told him that most suspects wanted to know the charges they faced.
Adebolajo replied: ‘You are  correct and I do not disagree  with that.’
As the hearing progressed Adebolajo – who was flanked by two plain clothes police officers and a security guard – suddenly seemed happy to stand up when asked.
At one point David Gottlieb, defending, told him to calm  down and said it was just a  ‘routine hearing’.

 

The court heard that the police have instructed a ‘world famous forensic psychologist’ to help them with their investigation.
Mark Topping, a specialist prosecutor from the Crown Prosecution Service’s counter terrorism division, said: ‘The Crown says the charges are indictable only and they must be sent to the Central Criminal Court.’ 

Adebolajo was remanded into custody and will appear at the Old Bailey either today or tomorrow for a procedural hearing.
He will then appear at the same court on June 28 alongside Michael Adebowale, who appeared in court last week charged with the murder of Drummer Rigby.

Michael Douglas Says Oral Sex Caused His Throat Cancer

 

Hollywood actor Michael Douglas has claimed that his throat cancer was caused by performing oral sex on women.The star, who fought a six month battle with the disease from August 2010 until January 2011, had initially believed that it was his years of smoking and drinking that had lead to the illness.

 

However, in a new interview the 68-year-old said that the particular strain he had suffered with was caused by human papilloma virus (HPV), the most common sexually transmitted disease in the U.S..Last year Cancer Research UK said that the rising rates of HPV-positive cases of oral cancer could be linked to oral sex. World Health Organisation figures have also linked HPV to more than 5 per cent of cancers worldwide.

HPV can be passed between men and women by genital contact, most often during vaginal and anal sex. It may also be passed on during oral sex and genital-to-genital contact. HPV can be passed on between straight and same-sex partners - even when the infected person shows no symptoms.

 

Douglas made the frank admission about how he developed the illness during an interview with The Guardian newspaper when he was asked if he had regretted smoking and drinking in the past.

Don jazzy surprisingly gave out 100k today to a fan on twitter for re-tweeting a tweet of his  at the weekend.

The money is meant to be a reward to the fan, whose handle is @Bmillions1.
Don Jazzy updated his handle on Twitter at about 1.37 pm on Saturday, with a tweet containing only a single dot (.) and no other message.

However, many of his followers may have classified the tweet an error, since no meaning could be attached to the post.

Surprisingly, two minutes after the post appeared on the social network, he wrote on his handle that @Bmillions! was the first to retweet the post and then, announced a N100, 000 for the latter.

He stated, “You have just won yourself N100,000 for just being the first person to retweet my “•” RT @Bmillions1.”

He immediately asked the lucky fan to send his bank details to him via direct messaging on the social network.

“@Bmillions1 send a direct message of your bank details sir. God bless. I’m waiting sir,” he said.

Showing appreciation after receiving the money, @Bmillions1 tweeted at 2.52pm on Saturday, “Thank you very much @DONJAZZY for the 100k. Thanks bro. God bless.”

Jose Mourinho has been confirmed as Chelsea's manager, returning for a second stint in charge at the club. 

Mourinho, 50, replaces Rafael Benitez after leaving Real Madrid, and has signed a four-year contract.

Mourinho, who will be officially presented in a press conference at Stamford Bridge next Monday, 10 June, brings three coaching staff with him in Rui Faria, Silvino Louro and Jose Morais. 

Chief executive Ron Gourlay said of Mourinho: "He was and remains a hugely popular figure at the club and everyone here looks forward to working with him again."

Mourinho first arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2004, weeks after guiding Porto to the Champions League trophy. 

He won the FA Cup and two League Cups as well as two Premier League titles but could not win the Champions League with the Blues.

His relationship with owner Roman Abramovich grew increasingly troubled and he quit despite having three years left on his contract. 

Gourlay added: "I am delighted to welcome Jose back to Chelsea. His continued success, drive and ambition made him the outstanding candidate.

"It is our aim to keep the club moving forward to achieve greater success in the future and Jose is our number one choice as we believe he is the right manager to do just that."
